- Brief Description: Reading Skills for Today’s Adults-Professional Edition or RSTA-Professional Edition is a comprehensive basic literacy program, with activities for native English and native Spanish speakers. It covers all six components of literacy: phonemic awareness, decoding, reading fluency, reading comprehension, vocabulary and writing.
- Proxy Hour Equivalent/Criteria for Awarding Proxy Hours: Unit completion, 2 hours per unit if student completes all related work.
- Proxy Hour Documentation: Teachers can see reports on individual students indicating how many activities they have mastered at each of sixteen levels, along with how many vocabulary words they have learning. Site administrators can see a list of all students indicating their time on task.
- Prerequisites: For ESL students: a score of 191+ on the CASAS Life & Work Reading (High-Beginning ESL); For ABE students: a score of 204+ Reading on CASAS Goals (Beginning Basic Education) or a score of 442+ on the TABE 11/12 Reading
