MobyMax approved as DL platform
MobyMax, an online program designed for K-8 schools to offer differentiated learning and fill gaps in student knowledge, has been approved as a DL platform. Susan Wetenkamp-Brandt, who submitted the application, said, " In our Open Door learning centers, it meets a need for beginning literacy instruction for our Pre-Beginning and Beginning ESL learners. This is the largest group of learners we serve, and there are no approved DL platforms that provide significant instruction in foundational reading skills except Reading Horizons, which is prohibitively expensive."
MobyMax is fully browser-based (there is nothing to install) and is mobile device-friendly. Susan added, "I have successfully used MobyMax on both an iPad and an iPhone, although the very small screen of the iPhone made navigation challenging."
The curriculum includes: Math, Early Reading (alphabet, phonics, sight words, etc.), Reading, Language (vocabulary, grammar, and spelling), Writing, Science, and Social Studies for Kindergarten through 8th Grade. The curriculum aligns with Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards. More infiormation is available here.
